Here are a few of the unexpected ways I’m using custom GPTs (and how you can too):
1. The Confidence Whisperer
Ever wish you had someone to talk you off the ledge before a big presentation? Or mid-networking spiral? I trained a GPT to remind me who I am when I’m not spiraling.
It pulls in my values, my wins, my goals, and yes—my tendency to Canadian-apologize for existing. It channels grace-led therapy, coupled with my badass future self audacious goal-slayer.
2. Your Inner Editor (Without the Ego)
Custom GPTs can learn your voice quirks (like how I hate the phrase “Let’s be honest”) and help you punch up posts or emails without washing out your personality.
It becomes your favorite editor, minus the red pen and guilt-laden drama.
3. Personal Hype Coach
Sometimes you don’t need strategy. You need someone (or something) to say “you’ve got this.”
Train your GPT with your testimonials, accomplishments, even affirmations. Next time imposter syndrome shows up? Boom. Instant pep talk.
4. Brand Brain on Demand
Forget flipping through old docs. Your GPT can remember your positioning statements, audience pain points, content pillars—and help you brainstorm or outline ideas without the rabbit holes.

How to Build Your Own Custom GPT (It’s Easier Than You Think)
Want your own AI hype human (minus the human)? Here’s how to get started with a custom GPT inside ChatGPT:

Go to “Explore GPTs”
In the ChatGPT interface (Pro account required), look for the “Explore GPTs” tab on the left-hand sidebar. This is where the magic lives.

Click “Create”
Follow the prompts to start building your GPT. You’ll be asked questions like:
- What do you want this GPT to do?
- What kind of tone should it use?
- What should it avoid saying?
- What do you want this GPT to do?

Feed it your brain
You can upload brand guides, bios, LinkedIn posts, testimonials—whatever makes your voice yours. The more relevant context you give it, the better it mirrors your magic.

Test and tweak
Give it a few trial runs. Ask it to write a pep talk, outline a blog, or help you prep for a client call. If it sounds like a corporate ghostwriter, adjust its instructions.
